I KNOW she likes the mug, but I’m sure this has happened to a lot of you out there, right? You’re happy with the gift you got someone, but then you think, Hmm, could I have got something better? Does the thought really count?
If it was anyone else I might really be emberassed.

Yepper, been there done that. Got the wife a $20 gift (I don’t remember what it was a movie or music CD) and she got me a $700 5 drawer rolling toolbox with a 5 drawer top box. WORST FEELING EVER, I was red with embarrassment for days.
Give her your credit card and go shopping with her, carrying all the packages.
She wouldn’t get that far with my card…
Mhm, I’m some mix between those two types of present-buyers. Most of the time I give more than I get (I give more expensive gifts than I probably get) and one or the other time I underestimate the other person (for example I never thought I’d get a present from a person but got one).
So I live according to the principle: It is the thought that counts! (that’s probably the cause of my immense soft toy-key ring collection… :/ )
this EXACT thing happened to my boyfriend and me this past Christmas. I bought him some new gloves, and he bought me a full-fledged monitor for graphics work.
love love love all your comics!!
That’s the problem with us who work with all kinds of EXPENSIVE gadgets… the best gifts tend to cost quite a bit.
