Now, I realize that burnt-out is a serious thing. I’ve known people who’ve had serious burnt-out and it’s not funny.
This person however… They burn out like other’s change socks. For one thing “Everyone’s doing it” and another thing is that she’s just seeking that “Oh, so and so just works herself to death! Poor thing. She’s such a trooper! ”

Ugh, I hate that sort of thing. There’s a guy who sits behind me in accounting who’s always putting on this ‘oh, I’m so stupid, I don’t get this stuff’ line so that the girl next to him will explain it to him. We haven’t even gotten into the math stuff yet. Every class, I have to resist the urge to throw things at him.
Don’t blame me if you get sued, but sometimes these people NEED something thrown at them…
and that is why its so hard to find good help these days. once you hire someone like THAT you can’t get rid of them so easily, and the useful people suffer. that’s why I’m self employed, i can’t stand the “pity me” people, there are hundreds of others chomping at the bit for a job, and they can’t have it because your taking up that space like a paper weight with no paper under it.
And why do the worst of them always seem to be in positions of power?
