Remember when this would happen? You’d do something to get your mom mad, she’d go to yell at you, but call you by your brother’s or sister’s name? Then she’d go through the whole family, all the pets and sometimes even some of the neighborhood kids. By the time she got to your name you were a couple blocks away and thus safe until next time.
If you get married and have kids will NOT be able to avoid this phenomenon.

Ha Ha Ha, I told you just wait until you have kids.
To which my reply was probably something like: “Ha! I’ll never have kids!”
Hehehe, exactly what I also wanted to write. Become a grandpa by yourself, lean back into your armchair and watch how your kids are shouting to your grandchildren, and have a smile on your face. (an evil one, off course.)
Only happens in big families my hubby’s is one of two and it never happened to him
We were two also (my brother and I), but I guess we felt like more.
Plus my mom’s from a family of six kids so that might be a factor as well…
My Mom would do this sometimes, she’d mess up my brother and I. We didn’t mind too much until she started calling us by the cats names. That was a little insulting.
Forgot to add, I also have this problem. But I call my daughter by my wifes name, since she doesn’t have any siblings.
Even with just two kids, my older brother is Justin (I’m Ryan), so anytime I was in trouble, my mom would always yell “Jus-Ryan”
Geez…I turned into my mother and my father. I really don’t know my kids names sometimes.
