But as for rentals…!! Before I had my own camera I checked out the rental prices at various places and just for a few days would cost half of what a new camera would.

Finnish mentality of making a buck.

Instead of putting that money into a rental, I’d rather just invest in my own camera.

Is there a chance to rent another cam?
Or everyone, who is involved with the music video, spent some little money and you all go and buy a new camera. (even a used one is thinkable – Ebay for example.)
